In 1869, Mark Twain published “The Innocents Abroad” where he recorded his observations of a journey to the Middle East and the Mediterranean, which often contrasted with the grandiose accounts of contemporary travelogues.

This started off as a collection of notes from our adventures around the world taken during our stay in the United Arab Emirates.  Now that we have returned to the USA, I’ll add to it from other adventures as I see fit. I try to be as accurate as possible with details.  I use posted information at the sites we visit, and government websites when available.  Other information I try to vet from two or more sources, and guide information I usually try to confirm as best I can.  Sometimes I draw my own conclusions when I have information from multiple sources.  Other times I’m just speculating – I usually state that.  In the end, I’m just a guy walking around this interesting world, sharing my observations.
